People will FIND a way to discriminate if none exists, no matter how stupid the method is. I just hope GW2 keeps this in mind.

I was just discussing with my Guild Leader that no one has come to defend this yet. Kinda funny.

I wouldn't be surprised if the people requiring stones were also selling stones on alt accounts.

There has been a thread like this before. The stone requirement is actually a genius idea (err scam). You can not make a guaranteed pro pug. This is where it gets cool, pro sc players benefit by selling their stones to noobs who would undoubtedly find their way into one of their pugs if the requirement was not there. Basically gets good scers in a pug and guilds money for failed runs.

Wow, and I always wondered why Ghastly Summoning Stones are so expensive. The Mesmer it spawns is nice and they are somewhat hard to get, but I guess the real reason is the new "trophy"-function.

Let me just say this...

What kind of idiotic moron came up with that idea?
"Show stones" - seriously?

I don't do SCs and everytime I hear a dumb story like this I'm glad that I am not a part in this machinery of elitist players who would do everything to not fail. And if they do, they quit, rage, will blame others.
And notice how 90% of those players run around in the same fu**ing gear all the time: Chaos gloves, Voltaic Spear, Tormented Shield. Do I need to say more? Oh the irony! They do SCs to get money to buy the things that ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE AT THE SCs are wearing...

Last time I did a full-run in UW was a loooooong... looooooooooooooooong time ago, because I wanted the statue for HoM (actually it must have been 2007, shortly after the release of Eotn).
I sometimes do farmruns, but the beauty of those runs is that you are aloooone.

Next time someone asks for stones show him some Icy Lodestones. That should do the trick...

I'd rather some Glacial Stones please! 25g each kk.

It's a funny scam. I assumed it was purely so the demand for them rose and SCers who would have many could exchange them for +1 ecto.

Genius. What would be even funnier though, is if you had to give your stones to the party leader before Dhuum. That'd be even more genius.

next in Guild Wars community:

show 3 video's from your own character in fow/uw and show you were actually doing a perfect job (ouch)

now i hope i dont bring em on the ideas, cuz people must be able to get uw/fow groups, not lose em all cuz of this idiotic idea

btw, are there any normal groups left in gw? where they either help people or let em join just to do something for FUN ?

i wont be surprised if gw loses alot more people anytime soon cuz of this

i dont like failing a mission cuz the group didnt do well, but i rather fail a mission than joining such heartless groups.....

By normal groups... Do you mean the ones that go:

"GLF more for UW 3/8 lf tank nukes healz" ?

I don't see much of it, and when I join them to see how far they get, it's often not past the chamber. Unless I'm healing.

If you mean a traditional team setup of 2x backline, 2x midline, x damage; yes. Physway.

Although, I'd like to know how many use Physway these days.

"to do something for fun"
so not just talking about uw/fow

i know there's almost no normal "elite area group" anymore, and that there are nearly no normal mission groups, most who ask for party in normal missions (like sanctum cay and others) are people who are worse than me mostly

i do agree that there are people who are bad at uw/fow who like to join, but showing an item wont really help to avoid those
what could work better is all party members to show their stuff in HoM and show their fow/uw stuff, but still wont work for 100%, as they may have had runs or such

well, there wont be much fun in the future, unless they give us 7 hero teams, which is in the other thread
